latest and perhaps most concrete time frame yet, the white house says president obama is expected to announce u.s. strategy in afghanistan within days. it follows last night's two-hour war counsel meeting with top advisers. officials say the focus continues to be not only on the number of troops, but also when and under what circumstance they will be able to withdrawal and turn over control to the afghan government. though, the top u.s. commander there has called for at least 40,000 troops, the president is said to be leaning toward a number more in the low to mid-30s. >>> in a laundry list of allegations, the south carolina ethics commission is accusing mark sanford of breaking state laws more than three dozen times. the 37 violations say sanford used his elected office for personal financial gain. despite a state law requiring budget travel, the panel says sanford improperly purchased first and business class airline tickets 18 times. he's also accused of using state-owned airplanes for personal events, often reimbursing himself with campaign cash. sanford fell under heavy scrutiny
